I'm Aly and I'm approaching thirteen years leading a profitable coaching consultancy, and twenty years as an Executive Coach. Before that I was a sales leader in the world of biotech & vaccines..and before that an NHS physiotherapist! Quite the journey to today.
I staggered initially into part-time self-employment as a real scaredy cat, and took ages to find my courage and freelance identity. Now in 2025, it feels like the right time to support the business growth of the next generation of coaches. The world needs coaches to succeed, now more than ever.
Associate, side hustle, B2C and full-time B2B since 2013, I've tried them all at some time, made many mistakes, celebrated some huge successes and learned a load of lessons. I'm "vintage" enough to have made it through the 2008 economic crash in a small coaching business, and I did it first as a single mum, then on the ragged edge of raising four teens. It's not an easy feat. I can't promise all bells and nice smells.
Having thought so much of it was random luck, I am now understanding the systems and processes that have contributed to my success, and identified some of the ways my former sales career serves me too. I can help you explore the ways that have worked for me, and find (or polish up) your own, to find your own version of success.
The Business Club at A Listening Life™ is built using all I've learned from my own journey as a Sales Leader and later as a Coach; and the combined wisdom I've collected from conversations with successful peers and colleagues who've gone before. The Group Mentoring Call comprises: Check ins, sometimes a brief input/teaching on a topic by Aly, with a stimulus to apply to your own business; Q&A Discussion; Peer Coaching; Personal accountability setting with timelines.
The session is led using the principals of safe, equitable, curious coaching spaces. Everyone will be heard and you'll be going away with clear actionable steps to take to support your business development.

However we do believe in the huge benefit of a cohort and would encourage you to view the group as an introductory step in any case. This allows you to see if you get along with Aly's approach before making a greater commitment, and allows Aly to understand more about your situation before recommending whether it feels like a match.
